Quotes

Lynn: I promised myself that I was not going to cry.
Cary: Well, you'll feel a lot better if you forget that promise.

Daisy: What are you worried about?
Julia: So much of art is illusion, Daisy. And I know how easily illusions can be shattered.

Out on the office terrace...
Matthew:
You know, I came up with a great idea. It could make you as happy as you made me.
Cary: Really, what's that?
Daisy: I can't wait to hear this.
Matthew: Well, my mom is kinda shy about dating. But the two of you would make a perfect couple.
(Cary looks at Daisy, who is trying not to smile.)
Cary: Matthew, I think you and I should sit down and have a little chat. (The sit down at the table.) I appreciate your good intentions ...
Matthew: Well, is it a great idea of what?
Cary: (Struggling for the right words.) Oh, it's a great idea. But not for me. And not that I don't like your mother. Or that she's not attractive ... no, no, no. It's not that at all. It's just that ... uh ... we have a company policy, you see. We don't mix private and professional relationships ... we just don't do that.
Matthew: Why?
Cary: Why?
Matthew: Yeah.
Cary: Why ...
Daisy: (Smiling.) Matthew and I are waiting.
(Cary looks at both of them, then smiles as he runs his fingers through his hair, looking for an escape.)
Cary: You know, I really thinks it's time I get a haircut. Excuse me.
