There are several scenes
at Crooner Stables, a play on Maggie's last name. The actual
location looks like it is the L.A. Equestrian Center.
Jake: Having a picture of her might help.
(Jake hands the picture to Cary. Cary looks at it for a moment,
then looks back at Jake.)
Cary: Hasn't helped you, though, has it?
Jake: No.
Cary: Well, know that I will, Jake.
(Cary shakes Jake's hand.)
Daisy: (To Robin.) We usually take cases
involving people who are looking for people with whom they have
a history.
(The final scene is in Cary's
office after both Cary and Daisy have wrapped up their cases.
Daisy is sitting across from Cary as he finishes telling her
about the baby.)
Cary: I wish you were there, Daisy.
Daisy: I would have like to have been.
Cary: Seeing those two kids give their
child over to the adoptive parents, who were lovely people ...
Daisy: That must've been very emotional.
Cary: Yeah. But in the end they were sure
what they were doing was for the best. It was sad ... but it
was very joyful.
(Daisy smiles and raises her glass of wine.)
Daisy: Another victory for Cary Maxwell.
Cary: No, no ... just a very moving moment
for everyone. (He pauses and thinks about it.) It's funny ...
by the time I had to hand that baby over the new parents, I felt
as attached to that little fella as Emily and Jake were.
(Daisy is touched by his sincerity.)
Daisy: You know, I knew you loved kids,
but I didn't know you loved infants.
Cary: Oh, I'm crazy about them.
Daisy: (Nods.) Maybe you can have your
own children some day.
Cary: I hope so. (He changes the subject.)
You know, they were very sweet ... they took a picture of me
with the baby.
Daisy: (Grins.) Can I see it?
Cary: Yeah, if you want to. As a matter
of fact, I happen to have it ... (He reaches into the breast
pocket of his jacket and grins as he pulls out the picture.)
... right here.
(Cary walks over, hands the picture to Daisy, and sits on the
arm of the chair, next to her. As Daisy looks at the picture,
she giggles.)
Daisy: Oh, he's sooooo cute!
Cary: He sure is.
(Daisy looks up at him.)
Daisy: Who said I was talking about the
baby?
Cary: Daisy ...
(A litle embarrassed, Cary takes the picture away from her and
Daisy laughs.)
